W. Langdon Kihn

Landgon Kihn studied at the Art Students' league with Homer Boss in 1916 and 1917. He was a member of the Connecticut State Fine Arts Commission, the Lyme Art Association, the Essex Art Association, and the Royal Society of Artists in London.
He exhibited at the Salons of America in 1923, at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1924, and at the National Academy of Design.
He traveled widely throughout the United States painting Native Americans from over 30 tribes. His works were illustrated in a major series for National Georgrpahic in 1937.
Also in 1937, he partnered with Guy Wiggins to for an art school in Essex, Connecticut. He was an illustrator for several books and magazines including Women's Day, Natural History, and Scribner's.
