Richard Field Maynard

Richard Field Maynard spent two years at Cornell University before transfering and later graduating from Harvard in 1898. He studied at the Cowles Art School in Boston and at the New York School of Art.
In 1917 he married Lorraine Huling in New York. He specialized in portrait painting and won a scholarship to the Art Students' League. He exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the American Water Color Society, the National Arts Club, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Corcoran Art Gallery (Washington, DC).
His first studio was in Carnegie Hall, but three years later he moved to the Sixty-Seveth Street Atelier Building. He lived in Old Greenwhich, Connecticut.
