Frederick Edwin Church (1876-1964) was born on October 25, 1876 in Brooklyn, NY. He studied at the Art Students League with Twachtman and Frank V. DuMond. He also studied under J.P. Laurens in 1905 at the Academie Julian, Paris. He attended Columbia University.
He exhibited at the National Academy of Design (Clark Prize 1916), Corcoran Gallery, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Detroit Institute of Art.
Church was a member of the Salmagundi Club, Audubon Artists, Allied Artists of America, MacDowell Club, Architectural League of New York, Lyme Art Association, and American Federation of Arts.
