Cynthia M. Bourbeau is a contemporary artist who was born and raised in Old Lyme. She attended the University of Hartford Art School. She later continued her studies in art with artists Robert Brackman, Harvey Dinnerstein, David Leffel, and Deane G. Keller. She also studied pastel landscape painting in classes taught by Albert Handell.
She has worked extensively with live portraiture and figure studies. She has exhibited at the Lyme Art Association where her pastel painting Portrait of Margaret Nason won first place at Regional Show. She has also exhibited at the Mystic Art Association and the Essex Art Association. She continues to accept commissions for portraits and had completed many portraits of prominent area citizens.
