Ogden M. Pleissner
Lyme Art Colony
(1905–October 24, 1983) In Lyme: 1933-1940
Ogden Minton Pleissner was born in Brooklyn in 1905 and lived there until 1941. He attended the Brooklyn Friends School and later studied at the Art Students’ League with Frank V. DuMond. Later, Pleissner taught at the Pratt Institute.

He exhibited at the American Water Color Society, the Allied Art Association, the National Academy of Design, the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, the Batimore Water Color Club, the Philadelphia Water Color Club, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and with the Lyme Art Association.

He was a member of the Salmagundi Club, the National Academy of Design, the American Water Color Society, the National Arts Club, and the Art Students’ League. He received several awards for his work.

Pleissner died on October 24, 1983.
