A blue Staffordshire platter decorated with a transfer printed scene of a Gothic building. It has a raised, white border and two raised handles colored blue. The platter was made at the pottery of Ralph Stevenson at Cobridge, Staffordshire.
Oblong form with dark blue transfer-printed decoration; press-molded with molded handles in shell form colored in cobalt blue; rim is molded in egg-and-dart decoration decorated with transfer-printed white flowers against dark cobalt blue ribbon; remainder of the marley, cavetto, well with transfer-printed scene of a large gothic church bordered by trees, a cloudy sky, and three people in foreground
