A charcoal study of two casts of hands and the lower arm. Done while Bertram Bruestle was a student at the National Academy of Design. Inscribed, signed, and dated at l.r.: "Day Preparatory Antique / BRUESTLE Nov. 14, 1918. / My First Drawings AT THE N.A.D." Academic drawing. Part of 85 sketches by George and Bertram Bruestle including landscapes, portraits, figurative, and architectural. They were retrieved from the Bruestle house in Lyme after Mrs. Bruestle's death in 1997.
