An English earthenware tray decorated with a blue oriental motif. The rim has a crude cross-hatched band.
Octagonal, oblong form with cobalt blue decoration of Chinese scene of bridge, pagoda, trees and water on white background; the cavetto with a repeat pattern of four diamonds; rim border with smaller version of the same pattern. Cobalt has run in the firing.

Condition: Tiny rim chip at corner
