This plank sided adult cradle was used for the elderly and invalid. The tops of the long sides are cut out simply and the sides are one plank wide. The cradle is held together with rosehead nails. The rockers have been replaced. It is made of pine and has been painted red. Originally it probably had a straw mattress. It was in the Griswold family barn in Black Hall, and was donated by Dr. Matthew Griswold.
