The barbed aspect of Sillman’s line stands out in this untitled work, the most minimal of the wave drawings on view. Each time Sillman stopped his pen he backtracked slightly, retracing a portion of the old line before moving forward with the new mark. The resulting images appear very much like sheer fabrics embroidered with tight stitches.
