A petticoat whale oil lamp (a) with a loop handle. The font sets on a truncated cone and has a fill tube. A brass burner (b) with three wick tubes screws into the top. Inside the cone is a peg which allows the lamp to be stuck in a candlestick. The lamp is made of japanned tin. lid (c)
