A spring landscape with daffodils blooming in the bank of a stream which runs diagonally from lower left ot bottom right corner. There are bare trees and a brown field stretching into the background. Lydia Longacre was a painter of miniature portraits and small-scale landscapes. Along with Matilda Browne, she was one of the earliest female artists who was a frequent guest at Miss Florence Griswold's boarding house through the 1930's.
