Studio supplies belonging to Will Howe Foote including portable paint boxes, collapsible easel for painting en plein air, and large oval palette. Foote purchased one palette in France c.1913. The easel has a box with twine attached to it which was used for anchoring the easel to a rock on breezy days. He didn't use this easel after 1945. There is also a small sketchbox for carrying 7 x 9" panels when sketching outdoors.
According to the donor, his father wiped his palettes clean each night to avoid paint build-up, creating a fine patina on the surface.
