View of three houses and a barn beside a dirt road with barren trees and patches of snow. Early in his career, undoubtedly influenced by Henry Ward Ranger, Voorhees painted in the Barbizon manner. After a number of years, he gradually made the transition to the Impressionist style. Among his most successful paintings are his harmonious winter scenes and tonalist moonlit landscapes.
