A charcoal figure study of a cast of a foot and a shading model. Academic drawing completed by Bruestle in Day Preparatory Antique course at National Academy of Design. Part of 85 sketches by George and Bertram Bruestle including landscapes, portraits, figurative, and architectural. They were retrieved from the Bruestle house in Lyme after Mrs. Bruestle's death in 1997. This sketch is inscribed at l.r.: B. Bruestle, Nov. 6, 1918 II Day Preparatory Antique. Done while Bertram Bruestle was a student at the National Academy of Design.
