Graphic designer and artist Norman Ives was interested in forms drawn from printing type, as well as in the interplay between two and three dimensions. He explored that concept in prints that contrast color with blank space, in relief assemblage sculptures, and in blind embossed prints like this one, where the paper itself has been give nearly sculptural presence. BA in the title of this work refers to Brooke Alexander Gallery, which collaborated with Ives on other prints.
