Norman Ives, Sillman’s partner at the fine art printing firm of Ives?Sillman, was a
graphic designer with a special interest in incorporating typography into his
paintings and prints. BA2
was printed by Ives?Sillman for Brooke Alexander, the
owner of a gallery in New York City. Alexander, an art dealer and print publisher,
graduated from Yale in 1961, while both Sillman and Ives were faculty members at
the school.
