A girl's white pique coat with long sleeves and an over cape which is about 1/2 the length of the coat. The seams are finished with piping. The front yoke has two buttons and loops. The front edges and hems of both coat and cape have wide cutwork edging and padded satin stitch embroidery. The sleeves are edged in narrow cutwork and decorated with embroidery. The coat falls in wide pleats from the yoke. A note attached to the coat reads: "Coat made in Paris and sent a gift to Miss Margaret Morison, aged three or four-she can't remember which. But she does remember disliking it intensely, with its small armholes, heavy cape and endless length. Too much for an American child."
