"Daisy Field" was painted soon after Brinley returned from his 3-year study in Paris and Italy. It was included in the 1909 2-person show with Elmer Macrea at the Shamrock & Thistle in New Canaan. In 1910 it was included in Brinley's first one man show at Madison Gallery in New York. Brinley was a significant post-Impressionist painter. This small work expresses the joy he felt for the Silvermine area of Connecticut.
