A hall lantern which hangs from the ceiling and consists of a glass globe with glass cover to prevent soot from staining the ceiling. The brass bottom section is composed of 2 pieces which unscrew to enable the replacement of the candle. The lantern is suspended from 3 hand-forged and linked chains which are connected to a brass ring. The hooks on the ring which the chains connect to are fashioned in the shape of beaked serpent's heads.
