A portrait of the artist's wife as a young woman. Drawn at Pimlico Apartments, Central Park West (NYC) after the birth of her daughter Rosalind, their first child. The head is 2/3 view, the demeanor is serious but spirited, the gaze of her eyes directed to the right. "Mr. Metcalf has caught the youthful charm of the lady, despite the subtlety of features, with astonishing character..." The Evening Globe, March 16, 1912.
