Painted during a picnic at Hamburg in Lyme. Two women seated in the lower left with a small standing figure in the background. In the foreground a girl is standing by a bonfire with her hands clasped behind her head. On the reverse is a picture of the artists son, George Watson Burr, by lamplight in their Old Lyme home.
