A large tabletop brass telescope on tripod base. It has a swivel joint so it can move both sideways and up-and-down. There is a detachable cap covering the lens, and a knob for focus to the right of the eyepiece. It is engraved with the inscription, "Presented to the Honorable James W. Husted by the Hell Gate Pilots, 1873".
