Half-length, full-face portrait of a little girl. The head of a shaggy dog, turned to the right, is seen in profile against her white dress. Her head throws an intense black shadow toward the right of the plate, and faint lines on each side of it suggest a panelled wall.The girl featured is the artist's daughter Caro.
