"MAXL" a young male character doll with tufted brown hair, molded and painted features, an open mouth, and brown eyes. He is dressed in a German Folk Costume (1968.41-47). His torso and legs are one piece. The arms are jointed at the shoulders. The doll bears several marks in different places: on the arms = "6", on the head in script = "MJHummel. and 6 c.WG.", and on the body = "c. W. Goebel."
