An oval purple velvet jewelry case with hinged lid, Inside are two compartments, one lined with green velvet, the other in cream-colored silk. There are two metal knobs on the exterior. The case looks like a miniature chest of drawers. It belonged to Harriet Angeline Lord Burr who died in 1909.
There were several items in the case when it was aquired by the Museum: a pair of wire-rimmed glasses (no longer in the case), the death notice of Mehitable Lord, a length of black grosgrain ribbon with clasp for a medal, a pair of 14k gold cuff links, a stone pendant without the chain, a purple jewel, a brass clasp with hinge engraved H.A. Lord, and a large bone cuff link with the initial "B" in silver on the front.
