Art Object, Nomenclature
View from a hilltop looking over the tops of evergreesn toward a snow covered valley below. Warner was one of a small number of Lyme Impressionists who specialized in snow scenes. Several Old Lyme artists had portable studios which were usually hitched to a team of oxen and then rolled into position. Equipped with stoves, such studios were designed to keep the artists warm on winter sketching trips.
