An African-American newborn baby doll with painted and molded features in the expression of a cry. It has synthetic arms and legs and a brown cloth body. The doll makes crying sounds as it is shifted from side to side. "Negro" dolls were especially popular immediately following the Civil War and again in the late 1890s.
