The sleeves are edged in narrow cutwork and decorated with embroidery. The coat falls in wide pleats from the yoke. A note attached to the coat reads: "Coat made in Paris and sent a gift to Miss Margaret Morison, aged three or four-she can't remember which. But she does remember disliking it intensely, with its small armholes, heavy cape and endless length.
