View of a winter woodland scene with the sun rising behind a gap between two mountains. A frozen stream lies between two banks in the foreground and leafless trees bend toward the center. Albert was a well-known designer of stage scenery before he chose to concentrate soley on landscape painting in 1909. While associated with the art colony, Albert painted autumn and winter scenes that display a color sensitivity suggestive of John Henry Twachtman's influence.
