A wooden chair with intricate oriental carvings on the seat back and along the seat edge. The seat itself has an inlaid marble or soapstone center approximately 12" x 14" x 1". The chair is one of a pair which formerly were owned by Mrs. Roger Griswold of Boxwood. The chair used to sit in the front hall and was brought to the U.S. by the Nl & GG Line of packet ships.
