A view of the Plesant Valley sectionof Lyme just opposite the Vonnoh House on Rt. 156; looking north. Center of the composition shows the Baptist Church (now the Town Hall) and the parsonage and one-room schoolhouse on Macintosh Road. A barn (torn down in the 1950s) is on the right and another barn converted into a studio/apartment by Vonnoh himself is on the left. According to the Starks, Vonnoh moved his painting studio over there when Bessie needed to used the main studio next to the house for her sculpture. Later when he and Bessie were separated, he moved into his studio across the road.
