Tall, cylindrical metal can. Main outer covering is a light brown/tan cardbord material with a small rectangular white paper label with black writing on the front. Label reads - Gum Damar, Laboratory Apparatus and Reagents, Arthur H. Thomas Company, Philadelphia, One Pound. On the back side of the can a the bottom is a second label about an inch long with the word "Java" in bolf black type. A thin layer of protective plastic covers the exterior due to the poor condition. The meal at the top and bottom of the can is heavily rusted, including the recessed, push-down lid. About 1/3 of the Gum Damar remains inside, substance is light amber/yellow in color and are rock-like crystalized formations.
