A man's cane made of wood with ivory knob-type handle and simple, incised lines. A scalloped silver band is at the base of the handle with the name "Moses Noyes" inscribed on it. The shaft tapers to a wide brass tip. A tag affixed to the cane reads, "This cane belonged to the Rev. Moses Noyes, the first minister in Lyme."
Moses Noyes was born in Newbury, Massachusetts in 1643. He was a graduate of Harvard College and a Fellow of Yale College. He was the first minister of Lyme. He married Ruth Picket in 1676.
