A pair of gold braided galooned Civil War epaulets for a captain's uniform. Made of ribbed gold fabric, red and blue velvet, gold braiding, and brass buttons. Underneath is red velvet padding and brass fasteners. They are marked Left and Right. The original oval tin box is painted gold inside. They belonged to Captain Charles McCurdy Lord of Lyme (1837-1877).
