A handheld stereoscope (a device that produces a three dimensional effect from a photograph) with a cardboard eye shield and a wooden knob. A sliding bar holds a card in place. Looking through the viewing lens produced a 3-dimensional effect. This is holding a photocard entitled "The Proposal" and dated 1901.
