Bare trees and snow-encrusted conifers surround a Victorian house, behind which a person tends a horse. A barn stands partially obscurred behind the house. A snow-covered hill rises to a cloudless sky painted in hues of pink and blue. This house is on Ferry Road in Old Lyme and was originally owned by the artist. It later became known as "the band house," because the Town Band held their practices there. It is presently the home of the Nut Museum.
