William O. Goodman was a benefactor to the Lyme Art Association in the 1920's and 1930's. He was a resident of Chicago who summered in the Lyme region. In this portrait he is seen seated from the waiste up wearing a brown three piece suit with a white shirt and a yellow and green tie. His left elbow is resting on the arm of the chair while his right hand on the end of the chair arm. He is seen with gray hair, eyebrows and a mustache, a double chin and wrinkles.
