This ivory-colored silk parasol has black, handmade lace overlay which creates a 2 3/4" scalloped edge. The shaft is made of ivory with the initials "EMS" engraved on the handle. There is a round, ivory finial at the top. The case is made of glazed muslin or osnaberg. it is gathered at both ends with a drawstring. The parasol belonged to the great-aunt (b. 1863) of the donor who lived in New York.
